Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation, A.C.
Santo Domingo, República Dominicana –17 al 23 de agosto de 2025.
The InterAmerican Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) announces a significant advancement in improving its internal processes with the implementation of an automated document management system. This historic milestone, a firm step towards digital transformation, has been made possible thanks to the valuable support of the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) of United States, an IAAC full member.
For years, the management of over 150 documents, including forms and procedures, was a manual process handled by the Documentation Sub-Committee (DSC) and the IAAC secretariat. This process, which relied on detailed updates in spreadsheets and rigorous human control, has now been modernized to offer greater efficiency and transparency to the entire regional cooperation.
In a gesture of support for the IAAC mission, ANAB has donated two licenses for its IQM (Ideagen Quality Management) software. This contribution has been fundamental to the successful transition of 100% of IAAC’s documentation to a digital platform. In recognition of this invaluable contribution, ANAB received a special distinction on August 22 in Santo Domingo, during the 34th General Assembly of the cooperation.
The transition project was carried out between April and August 2025, with around 10 training sessions for the DSC team, led by its chair and vice-chair. The benefits of this automation are extensive and will be directly reflected in the work of all IAAC members:
This modernization allows IAAC to optimize information management, strengthening inter-American cooperation and ensuring that the conformity assessment structure continues to improve products, processes, and services across the region.
