The Chair of IAAC, Andrea Melo, delivered the keynote address at the 1st São Paulo Symposium on Quality Infrastructure, held on October 1, 2025, at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP). Her presentation highlighted the strategic relevance of accreditation and regional cooperation in addressing competitiveness challenges amid rapid technological transformations and global integration.
The event was led by the Institute of Weights and Measures of the State of São Paulo (IPEM-SP), one of the largest market surveillance bodies in Brazil, under the leadership of its Superintendent, Mr. Marcos Heleno Guerson.
The program brought together authorities such as the Secretary of Justice and Citizenship of São Paulo, Dr. Fábio Prieto de Souza, the Director of Quality Assessment at Inmetro, Dr. João Nery Rodrigues Filho, the Undersecretary of Competitiveness and Regional Economic Development of São Paulo, Ms. Julia da Motta, along with leaders from ABNT, FIESP, IPT, SENAI, and universities.
The symposium reinforced the synergies between cooperation, accreditation, the productive sector, and public policies, consolidating Quality Infrastructure as a strategic pillar for innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable development in Brazil and across the Americas.
