World Quality Day 2025

The Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) organized, on behalf of the Quality Infrastructure Council of the Americas (QICA), the regional event for World Quality Day 2025.
The purpose of this event was to highlight the importance of quality and accreditation in the economic and social development of the Americas, as well as to promote the exchange of experiences among the organizations that make up QICA.

The event brought together over 1,000 participants from across the region, including experts and representatives from accreditation bodies, metrology institutes, and quality infrastructure organizations, who shared their perspectives on progress and regional challenges.

The Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) and the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) held this joint webinar to promote awareness and participation in the OIML-CS Certification System across the Americas. The event featured international experts who shared experiences on the implementation of the OIML-CS system in various regions, along with representatives from accreditation and conformity assessment bodies.

“The Quality Infrastructure Council of the Americas (QICA) and the Circular Economy Coalition for Latin America and the Caribbean organized a webinar titled “”Standards, Labels & Certifications for the Circular Economy of plastics””, held on March 23, 2023. The webinar includes interesting presentations by panelists and experts on their experience of Certification programs and labels, focused on Circular Economy in plastics, in Argentina and Colombia. Also, the first mapping of labels and Conformity Assessment programs regarding Circular Economy in Plastics, in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The Quality Infrastructure Council of the Americas (QICA) is made up of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC), the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM), and the PanAmerican Technical Standards Commission (COPANT)”

World Accreditation Day 2022

IAAC held a virtual event to celebrate World Accreditation Day (#WAD) 2022, featuring keynote speakers from IAF, ILAC, APAC, ISO/CASCO, and regional accreditation bodies. The discussions focused on how accreditation supports sustainable economic growth and the environment. The event had a great turnout, with over 450 participants.
